Description
Rare, Asian Hill Country quilted squares
These original hand worked, tightly quilted squares were completed by women of the Hill Tribes of East Asia… the communities of people who knew no real boundaries, but instead, traveled throughout the hills of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, without regard for national borders. Each of these squares was individually completed and then 3 to 4 of them would be sewn together at each side of the woman’s apron to be used as the apron ties. Each square is an individual work of folk art that is becoming very difficult to find, especially in good condition.
This wonderful work of local art provides a colorful and decorative accent in any home; with the added advantage of representing a tradition that is rapidly vanishing.
