Striking hand woven silk panel with gorgeous hand embroidered scene reminiscent of ancient Japan. The subtle Peony (Botan) dominates the scene; and, rightfully so, as it is known as the “sovereign of the flowers.” It is joined by the arrangement of Cherry (Sakura) Blossoms which, by the tenth century, had become so popular that they were known as “the flower.” The third in this flower trilogy is the cluster of Wisteria (Fuji), one of the most graceful and valued of the traditional Japanese floral motifs.
